Roman Urdu, Urdu or English: which language should your posts use?

The right language can double how many people stop to read your post. Here is a simple way to choose, platform by platform.
Roman Urdu: how people actually text
Most people in Pakistan type Urdu in English letters. On Instagram, Roman Urdu feels friendly and local, and it works well for food, fashion, beauty and shops.
Example: “Kal birthday hai? Cake aaj order karein.”
Urdu: trusted and clear
Urdu script reaches people who prefer to read in Urdu, often an older audience on Facebook. It feels respectful and clear, and suits clinics, schools, restaurants and family businesses.
Example: “کل سالگرہ ہے؟ کیک آج آرڈر کریں۔”
English: premium and professional
English suits LinkedIn, premium brands and businesses that sell to companies or overseas Pakistanis.
Example: “Birthday tomorrow? Order the cake today.”
Mix by platform
You don't have to choose one. Many businesses use Roman Urdu on Instagram, Urdu on Facebook and English on LinkedIn. What matters is that each post is written in that language from the start, not translated word for word.
How Postwala handles it
Choose your languages per platform when you set up. Each post is written fresh in that language, and you can switch a post to another language in a click.
